Fertility, Conception & Pregnancy

There is no more important time to look after your own health than when you are planning a family. The health of your new-born child is directly dependant on your own health before conception as well as throughout pregnancy.

Ideally both partners should have a nutritional assessment 3-6 months before planning to conceive. In the majority of cases where couples have difficulty conceiving, it is down to the quality of the sperm - which you may be surprised to learn takes around 3 months to mature. Improved nutrition can boost the quality and motility of the sperm, increasing your chances of a quick and natural conception.

While for the woman, though an egg takes less time to mature, the demands placed on your body as your baby grows make it essential to be in the best possible health before becoming pregnant. Studies show that women who receive optimal levels of nutrients have less complications during pregnancy and at the time of birth, as well as having healthier babies.

Kim will work with you to enhance the nutritional status of both you and your partner, and look at underlying issues that may affect your fertility or pregnancy. You will receive advice on the best supportive nutrients to take during your pregnancy, to help you maintain your energy levels right up to the birth and get you ready for those sleepless nights ahead.

Kim is a registered practitioner working with the Foresight Pre-conception Programme and Nourish Fertility (see links).
